"I developed an interest in drawing and painting very young. In the 4th grade, I was often sent to see the principal, for spending more time drawing than working on my assigned work. I pursued my interest in art through High School and College. After serving in a career in law enforcement, my wife and I moved to the Oregon coast, and I have been devoting much more time to my painting. Since moving to Lincoln City, I have studied with local artists Joan Baldree-Farouqui, Douglas Haga, Bill Kucha, Sharon Maribona Rebecca Shivers-Singletery and John Maslen. I enjoy working in water mediums, especially watercolor and acrylics, but have tried gouache and water-miscible oils, too. |

I like to represent the many things of beauty on the Oregon coast or nearby. I have painted scenes of boats, lighthouses and buildings that are local land marks. I also find people interesting subjects for painting. I usually have more ideas for paintings in my head, which develop there much faster than I can get them fixed on paper or canvass. My paintings have been accepted for exhibit at the State Fair many times and I was juried into the Watercolor Society of Oregon in 2001."
